તાંબુ
તાંબુ એ એક ધાતુ તત્વ છે. તેનો ક્રમાંક ૨૯ અને ચિહ્ન cu (Latin: cuprum ક્યુપ્રમ્). પ્રાચીન કાળથી જાણીતી ધાતુ તાંબુ તથા તાંબાનો ઉપયોગ કરી બનાવેલી મિશ્રધાતુઓનો વિવિધ જગ્યાઓએ ઉપયોગ કરવામાં આવે છે, જેમ કે વાસણ, ઓજાર, બાંધકામમાં વગેરે. આજના જમાનામાં વિદ્યુતના સુવાહક તરીકે સોના-ચાંદીની સરખામણીમાં સસ્તી ધાતુ તરીકે તાંબાનો ભારે પ્રમાણમાં ઉપયોગ થયો છે. તાંબુ અને જસત મળીને પિત્તળ બને છે. ખાસ કરીને તાંબુ વાસણો અને વિદ્યુતનાં તાર બનાવવા ઉપયોગમાં આવે છે. તાંબુ લઘુ તત્વોની શ્રેણીમાં આવે છે.
